We are seeking a 5-7 year associate with recent business litigation experience to join our team. This role is ideal for an attorney who is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a varied caseload with precision and efficiency. The successful candidate will possess excellent legal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced and client-focused environment.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct legal research and produce detailed research memoranda.
- Communicate directly with clients to provide legal advice and guidance.
- Draft various pleadings, including initial filings, settlement documents, motions, discovery requests/responses, and disclosure statements.
- Conduct depositions and engage in fact-finding activities.
- Attend court hearings, ADR sessions, conferences, and client meetings.
- Represent clients in mediation and settlement conferences.
- Serve as assistant trial counsel and participate in trial preparation.
- Negotiate case settlements and resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with California statutes, rules, and case law.
- Perform administrative and management functions related to your caseload.
What You'll Need:
- Licensed to practice law in California.
- 5-7 years of experience working at a law firm.
- Experience with eDiscovery platforms, CCC Macros, Expert Time, IManage, and Titan File (preferred).
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with diverse individuals across various backgrounds.
